SEEK DAILY (NBC) DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR NOVEMBER 17 2021 (LET THE HEAVENS BE GLAD)
Bible Text: 1 Chronicles 16: 23-34
TOPIC: LET THE HEAVENS BE GLAD
“Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let them say among the nations, ’The Lord reigns!’” 1 Chronicles 16:31, NIV
Someone once wrote, “There is no nation, there are no men, whatever may be their language, to whom the heavens do not speak, declaring the greatness and glory of God. The language which they speak is universal; and however various the languages spoken by men, however impossible it may be for them to understand each other, yet all can understand the language of the heavens, proclaiming the perfections of the great Creator.
That is a universal language which does not need to be expressed in the forms of human speech, but which conveys great truths alike to all mankind.” Today’s passage is an invitation for everyone and everything on earth and in heaven to rejoice and to declare God’s glory among all nations.
The last verse encourages us to give thanks to God for He is good and His love endures forever. When we look around us, we cannot deny the goodness of God. He has been gracious unto us and we will be ungrateful not to recognize His faithfulness. When was the last time you took inventory of God’s awesome deeds in your life, and shared the testimony of His faithfulness with someone? Do not keep God’s faithfulness to yourself.
Insight: Thinking about the goodness of God helps our mind to be focused on Him.
Prayer: Help me Lord, to always declare Your goodness.
