Text: Psalm 84
Topic: HOW LOVELY IS GOD’S DWELLING PLACE
“How lovely is your dwelling-place, O LORD Almighty!” Psalm 84:1, NIV
Oral Roberts in the days of his healing crusades would usually wait to feel God’s presence upon him before taking steps to pray for the sick. His ministry was characterized by diverse amazing miracles and wonders. He valued God’s presence above everything else.
Genuine worshippers desire to spend time in God’s presence and with other Christians during worship. His presence makes our worship impactful and reveals His glory. Without His presence, our worship becomes lifeless and mere ceremonial activity. God’s presence is protective, glorious, and transforms people and places (vs. 6). When carriers of God’s presence pass through the place of difficulty, it transforms into a place of refreshing-springs as the blessing of His presence neutralizes what is contrary to His plans.
God’s presence increases our victorious power and makes the difference between us and others. Pressing forward to know more of God brings continual refreshing and transforms us from one degree of glorious strength to another (vs. 7).
Do you enter into the place of worship with the anticipation of meeting God and experiencing His glory? Beloved, desperately crave for the rekindling of a fresh passion for His presence in your heart.
Insight: Spending time in God’s presence ushers in divine visitation
Prayer: Father, rekindle a fresh passion for Your presence in my heart.
