SEEK DAILY (NBC) DEVOTIONAL FOR FEBRUARY 8, 2022 (WALK IN CHRIST’S LOVE)
TOPIC: WALK IN CHRIST’S LOVE
Bible Text: 1 John 2:7-11
Memory Verse: “Anyone who loves their brother and sisterc lives in the light, and there is nothing in them to make them stumble.” 1 John 2:10, NIV
Many of us are living based on the great extent of love and affection our parents showed us. Many children lives are shaped and molded based on the love their parents lavish upon them. This in many ways will determine the extent of the love they will show to others in their daily relationship with them.
The commandment Christ gave Christians is to love others using Him as a model of what love represent. Here in 1 John 2, Apostle John talks about the manifestation of that love in the way Christians are to relate with other brethren. If Christians do not love their brother and sisters, they are still living in darkness. The light and love of Christ are seen in loving others as Christ has loved us.
The love of Christ that we are called to walk in as children of light, is the foundation of our belief as Christians. When you walk in the light and love of Christ, you are extending that same light and love to others. The love for Christ is a reflection of His love for His followers. Your love for others is a reflection of your true identity in Christ.
Insight: It’s easy to say, “I love Jesus” but it is another thing to manifest it.
Prayer: Father, give me a heart of love like that of Christ, to always show love to all.
