MESSAGE
God is a God of order and this is obvious in all He created. The way our body functions attest to this fact. You may need to ask why He made us with two eyes, two ears and one tongue. Why do we have two legs and two hands? All these are pointers to orderliness. God set all these in order so that we will not malfunction. In the same way He has built orderliness in His creation. So, when we are disorderly, we are not manifesting the nature of God in us.
The records of genealogies of the children were kept as outlined in today’s passage. There was a detail record of individuals and the roles each played especially in the service of the temple. The gatekeepers and how they performed their roles were not left out.
The church today lacks order. That is why Apostle Paul gave instruction to Timothy thus: “If I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God’s household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth” (1 Timothy 3:15). Let orderliness begins with you; teach others to be orderly in all they do so that they also can reflect God’s nature through their lifestyle.
Insight: Disorderliness breeds rebellion.
Prayer: Lord, help me to be orderly in my daily affairs.
RBT Passage: Deuteronomy 23-25
