TOPIC: REJOICE IN GOD’S MIGHTY RULE
Bible Text: Psalm 66:1-7
MV …come, let us rejoice in him, he rules forever by his power, his eyes watch the nations- let not the rebellious rise up against him. Psalms 66: 6b-7, NIV
MESSAGE
The Preacher says, when the righteous rules, people rejoice: when the wicked rules, the people mourn. Our God, a righteous judge rules and reigns over all the works of His hands. The psalmist calls all the earth to shout for joy, sing glory to His name for His works and power are awesome. Alluding to this is the miracle of the crossing of the Red Sea, where the children of Israel crossed on dry land. He is still in the business of conserving and preserving the creation including you! Rejoice in His ability, greatness, mercy, protection and most importantly for the salvation of humanity.
If God watches over the sparrows, how much more will He watch over you? The basis of your joy should not be only when things are good and right but even when the unexpected happens. Are you worried, disturbed, distressed, confused, frustrated, and perplexed? God is still God and rules in the affairs of men. He can handle all your concerns, just put your trust in Him. We serve a living God whose kingdom is everlasting, not limited by space or tenure. Rejoice in all situations.
Insight:
Rejoice for your fulfillment is in the incomparable and everlasting kingdom of God.
Prayer:
Lord, answer me when I am in distress and protect me.
