SEEK DAILY (NBC) DAILY DEVOTIONAL November 8, 2021 (CLAP YOUR HANDS, ALL YOU PEOPLES)
Topic: CLAP YOUR HANDS, ALL YOU PEOPLES
Text: Psalm 47
:“Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy.” Psalm 47:1, NIV
MESSAGE
Clapping and shouting are also ways we can express ourselves to God in worship. We praise Him because He is a God of sovereign and universal dominion who is worthy of all praises.
Today’s passage is a psalm of exuberant rejoicing, enthronement, and ascension. The psalmist exhorts all people to praise the Lord because the concerns and welfare of His people are His priority. Jesus came down to earth and secured for us triumph, and subdued the kingdoms and schemes of darkness under our feet through His once-and-for-all redemptive work on the cross (vs. 3).
In Christ, we have rest and settlement (vs. 4); a goodly heritage that “can never perish, spoil or fade” (1 Peter 1:4). After Christ’s death and resurrection, He ascended into heaven with shouts of triumph and He is seated at the right hand of God to make intercession on our behalf (vs. 5; Romans 8:34). Therefore, we are to praise His name forever.
Friend, resolve to live for God alone and praise Him with excitement daily. Take a moment to praise the Lord for who He is, what He has done and for what He is doing.
Insight: Worship retells the message of the once-and-for-all finished redemptive work of Christ.
Prayer: Lord, my praise belongs to You, the great King over all the earth.
