Bible Text: Acts 10:1-8
TOPIC: AN ANGEL SPEAKS TO CORNELIUS
“One day at about three in the afternoon he had a vision. He distinctly saw an angel of God, who came to him and said, “Cornelius!” Cornelius stared at him in fear. “What is it, Lord?” he asked.
The angel answered, “Your prayers and gifts to the poor have come up as a memorial offering before God.” Acts 10:3-5, NIV
Every relationship is established and maintained through communication. Christianity too is a relationship that must be nurtured through constant communication with God. It is vital that we learn to hear God’s voice, so that we can deepen our relationship with our heavenly Father. God has various means of communicating with His children.
In today’s passage, God spoke to Cornelius through an angel. The angel came to deliver God’s assignment to Cornelius. He was god-fearing and prayed to God regularly. You cannot recognize the voice of someone you don’t talk to regularly. One of the things that can help us recognize the voice of God is our constant fellowship with Him. Talking to God regularly will tune our mind to His voice and help us understand His ways, so that we will not miss His instructions for our life. Have you been hearing God’s voice? Do you know how God speaks to you? It is God’s plan for us to know Him intimately; therefore, we must learn to hear His voice. Develop a close fellowship with God today and enjoy free flow of communication with Him.
Insight: Communication with God is the life-wire of our relationship with Him.
Prayer: Lord, help me to be deeply rooted in You so that I can recognize Your voice.
