SEEK DAILY (NBC) DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR February 13, 2022 (BE CHRISTLIKE)
TOPIC: BE CHRISTLIKE
Bible Text: Job 29:12-16
Memory Verse: “Because I rescued the poor who cried for help, and the fatherless who had none to assist them” Job 29:12, NIV
It has been said that the Old Testament is the New Testament concealed, while the New Testament is the Old Testament revealed. In other words, there are certain issues the Old Testament discussed that we can only find a better understanding of them in the New Testament. One of such is presented to us in today’s passage. Job demonstrated Christ likeness in his days because he did exactly what Christ commanded his followers to do in the New Testament.
Job demonstrated genuine love for the people around him by rescuing the poor who cried out to him, the fatherless who had none to help him, and making the heart of widows to merry. Job maintains a balance between righteousness and justice thereby demonstrating Christ likeness as written in Isaiah 42:1.
When Jesus was here, he was going about everywhere doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil (Acts 10:38). To Emulate Christ is to be
Christlike in all ways, anyone with this virtue will be intentional about their work with others. Believers are called to lighten those in darkness, Like Job, you are to be a channel through which the blessings of God will flow to the hungry, the thirsty, the strangers, the naked, the sick and those in prison. Let all that see you see Christ in you.
Insight: You cannot be a Christian and not be Christlike.
Prayer: Lord, let others see Jesus in me!
