Question(s) for Reflection
• Is there any example for me to follow or not to follow?
Imagine that you were David. How would it feel that you won every battle that you fought (vs.1-6b; 13)? What a sweet victory! We also have lots of battles to fight in life and there is no doubt that we desire such sweet victories in our lives. But notice who the source of David’s victory was (v.6c, 13b)? We can also be sure of victory if we turn our battles over to Jesus (Romans 8:37).
What can we learn from David in v.11? When we achieve success in our academics, jobs, businesses, or win victory over unpleasant circumstances like sickness, accident, persecution, etc, it is important we return the glory to God and dedicate such victories to Him in recognition that He is the source of it all. What lesson in leadership is there for us in v.14? The need for leaders, like David, who will do what is right and just is very great in Africa.
Are you such a leader? Note that David employed the skills and talents of others in his administration (vs.15-17). This is a secret of successful leadership that we need to learn.
• What Next? Take some time to reflect on victories and successes God gave you recently.
• Any new insight or reinforcement of what you already know?
• Thank Him for them and think of a memorial you can offer as a sign of dedicating the success/victory to the Lord. •
