SCRIPTURE UNION DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR SEPTEMBER 11, 2022 (THE SACRIFICE GOD WANTS)
TOPIC: THE SACRIFICE GOD WANTS
Opening Prayer: Let me know more of you today dear Lord as I meditate on your word.
Scripture: Micah 6:1‐16
Question(s) for Reflection
• What does the passage teach about God the Father, or God the Son or God the Holy Spirit?
• Is there any command for me to obey?
MESSAGE
Have you ever witnessed a court case before? Can you see a semblance of a court case in this passage? Notice how God brought His people, as it were, to court, to settle matters with them. Why do you think God called the witnesses in vs.1‐2 to witness His case against His people? Read vs.3‐5 again and reflect on the questions God asked His people. How do these apply to us? Are we any better than the people of Judah?
Through the sacrifice of Christ’s life, we have been made holy and escaped God’s coming judgment once for all (Hebrews 10:8‐14). All we are to do now is pursue Christlikeness in our daily walk with God, instead of meaningless religious rituals.
Practice/Word Application
So what? Do you act with justice in dealing with people? Do you show mercy to others? Are you humble, like Christ our Master?
• Any new insight or reinforcement of what you already know?
Closing Prayer
• Lord Jesus, thank you for offering your life for me. Help me to live for your glory all the days of my life.
