Opening Prayer: Make my life oh Lord a reflection of you as I study your word.

Scripture: 2 Timothy 2:1‐7

Question(s) for Reflection
• Is there any example for me to follow or not to follow?

It’s Pope Francis who made the point that our baptism forms an unbroken chain that leads all the way to the baptism of Jesus Christ and His disciples, because the person who baptised you was baptised by someone, and so on all the way to the beginning! V.2 spells out the right goal for every believer. Can you remember the person who led you to faith in Christ?

Take time to praise the Lord for their faithfulness. You now have a responsibility to share this faith with others, and they in turn to entrust it to other faithful witnesses who will pass it on. The future is assured so long as there is no break in the chain, otherwise, as it has been said, “Christianity is only one generation away from extinction!”

That is a real experience of many churches in Europe: their doors shut, and buildings sold. Notice the three illustrations in vs.3‐6. What particular attribute of the soldier is highlighted? What is required of any athlete to be successful and what happens to the hardworking farmer at the end of his labours? In what ways does each one of these speak to you as a Christian today?

Practice/Word Application
Action point: Do what v.7 says right now, and the promise it contains will be fulfilled in your life!

• Any new insight or reinforcement of what you already know?

Closing Prayer
• Let us pray for all our spiritual and political leaders that God will cause them to lead us according to the will of God.

Prayer for the week
• Pray for the salvation of our children. Believe God that the training they are getting will not be in vain. Call upon God to preserve them in schools and in the playground.

Offer a prayer of faith in line with
John 8:36; 2 Kings 17, 18; Psalms 64
