OUTLINE

The Bible is replete with illustrious characters who rose from grass to grace and from obscurity to fame all because they went the extra mile in the assignments that were given to them. Joseph, after several years of suffering persecution and pain unjustly, was invited by Pharaoh to interpret the dream he had.

The dream troubled the king so much that when he heard about a man who had the gift of dream interpretation and the testimony of the butler, he sent for Joseph. In the presence of the king, Joseph first gave glory to God, the Owner of the gift at work in his life. He said, “God will give an interpretation to the king’s dream.” That was the beginning of Joseph’s success and destiny transformation.

So when the king narrated his dreams, the Spirit of God spoke through Joseph and interpreted them. The same Spirit of God enabled Joseph to give more than just interpreting the dreams. He proffered solution to the imminent national problem. That was the anointing of more! Though the king did not ask Joseph for solution, when he offered it, he was pleased with it and was also amazed at Joseph’s wisdom.

Pharaoh then pronounced, “…Forasmuch as God hath shown thee all this, there is none as discreet and wise as thou art. Thou shalt be over my house, according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.” The lesson to learn here is that the gifts and talents that God has given you are meant for His service.

Besides, you should use the gifts maximally to give the Owner the greatest benefits for His investments in your life. Only the best is good enough for God. When you give your best to God, He will always be with you. Dear reader, can you honestly say that you are giving God your best with the talent in your life? Do you agree with me that you can do a lot more? Heaven will bless you as you resolve to give the best to God henceforth.
