Waiting on the Lord requires focus, persistent prayers and consistent efforts. The outcome of these is all round benefits, as stated in scriptures.
The first one is the divine renewal of your strength. This means that the physical and spiritual strength put into your moments of travail in prayer must not leave you exhausted. All the energy burnt through your fasting, keeping vigils, wrestling in prayers, and the uninterrupted study and meditation on God’s word will be divinely restored and replenished. What an amazing experience when you’re divinely refilled. Instead of a stressful situation, you end up being stronger than when you started. This refreshing experience can only be received in God’s presence.
Next to this is the ability to mount up like the eagle. The eagle is a unique kind of bird. It has uncommon and amazing qualities that singles it out for excellence among fellow birds. This implies that as you wait upon the Lord, you’re able to soar into higher spiritual and physical realms for uncommon exploits. The eagle is a high flyer!
