Beloved, do you want to rule your world? Do you want to be numbered among achievers in your generation? The key to fulfilling that good desire is becoming a solution to your world. Men and women who solved great problems in their lifetime are remembered long after they died.
Deborah added value to her world. She was a solution to people’s problems; no wonder the Bible recorded that the Israelites came up to her for judgement (Judges 4:5). Even men were not left out, the high and mighty dropped their ego and came to this woman for judgement. Note that she never left her place to chase fame and wealth. Those things came looking for her in her comer. “And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.”
Your financial freedom is tied to the release of your potential and how much value you are able to add to people’s lives. Make up your mind this day to become a solution, a value-adding person rather that being a burden or problem. Make up your mind to leave the world a better place than you met it. Make up your mind to add colour wherever you find yourself at any given period of time. Deborah met the land of Israel in a state of chaos; she came on board and the story changed. She added value and, in the end, it was recorded that *……And the land had rest forty years” (Judges 5:31).
Beloved, what are you called to do? Please, do it well. Are you a career person? Do your job well and add value to your organisation. If you are business person, add value, treat your customers right, do small things in a big way. Are you a pastor or full-time church minister? Serve well, add value, prepare your sermons excellently. Create a niche for yourself in your corner. Whatever your hand finds to do, do it excellently. Do not settle for anything less than excelence in your delivery. Don’t forget that the value you add becomes your unique selling point and ultimately gives you a brand image. Stop taking what you are doing for granted. You never can tell who is watching you.
No matter how remote your location is, people will come looking for you if you are a value-adding person and a solution. Kings will look for you. John the Baptist was in the wilderness but people came from their high- brow cities to hear him in the wilderness. Deborah only sat under a palm tree but people of timber and calibre had no option than to sit under that tree to see her because they needed something from her. Stop looking for fame and wealth: look for how to add value, then fame and wealth will come running after you.
