TOPIC: ACTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES
Read Galatians 6:7-10
7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.
8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.
9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.

EXPOSITION
There is a consequence for every action taken by anyone. However, this fact seems to be meaningless to many people. Therefore, they live as if they have unfettered liberty to say anything, do anything, go anywhere, and go scot-free. They live their lives, doing things with impunity. They don’t care whose ox is gored, or who is affected or injured by their actions, inactions and reactions. Many people carry on in life, only to discover when it is too late that they must account for the way they lived.
Apostle Paul, the writer of the Epistle to the Galatians, reminds everyone that seasons of harvest will surely follow that of sowing, that there is a consequence for every action. How many people today go about life thinking they know everything, can do anything, and fear nothing or nobody? Whether in the family, workplace, church, or the society, such people routinely trample on the rights of others with impunity, and frighten their victims into silence for fear of their reactions. Anyone in this condition is in reality blinded by self-confidence, pride and arrogance. He must eventually face a payback time for his/her actions. What goes around, comes around.
For such people, the only way to avoid future regrets or present pain is to retrace their steps back to Christ, pause and ponder on the moment of the consequences of their actions, seek forgiveness from God, rectify the damages their activities have caused others, and ask God to guide and direct their lives, henceforth. Again, let them from time to time ask themselves: Am I ready to reap the fruits of what I am sowing? Am I ready to enjoy the results of my actions? (Gal. 6:7). Learn from Adonibezek who said, “Seventy kings with their thumbs and big toes cut off used to gather scraps under my table; as I have done, so God has repaid me,” Then they brought him to Jerusalem, and there he died (Jdg. 1:7).
PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord, help me, don’t let ‘had I known’ end my actions.
2. Lord God, guide me to always have Your fear at heart in my actions.
3. Lord God, open the eyes of our leaders to the fact that they will account for their actions, so that this would moderate their leadership attitudes and actions.
