Topic: ENTRUSTED TO TAKE THE GOSPEL TO THE GENTILES
Text: Galatians 2:1-10
“For God, who was at work in Peter as an apostle to the circumcised, was also at work in me as an apostle to the Gentiles.” Galatians 2:8, NIV
MESSAGE
A man wanted to show his students a new technique of shooting an arrow. He told them to cover his eyes with a cloth and then he shot his arrow.
When he opened his eyes, he saw the target with no arrow in it and when he looked at his students, they looked embarrassed because their teacher had missed. The teacher went on to explain that, “in order to succeed in life, you must keep eye on your target, otherwise you may miss a good opportunity.” They were impressed with the lesson.
Though other Apostles thought nothing of the Gentiles, Apostle Paul understood that his calling was to minister to them. He shared his testimony and presented his message before the other Apostles for consideration as someone willing to be guided if wrong (vs. 2). He was focused on the assignment God committed to his hands- ministering to the Gentiles.
Every child of God has a specific assignment God has placed in his hands. We must discover it and work to achieve it. What is it that God has committed into your hands? I hope you have not lost focus. If you have, retrace your steps. Be a focused and committed steward.
Insight: So as not to miss the target, stay focused.
Prayer: LORD, help me that I will not be distracted from the work You have given me.
