Bible Text: Hebrews 13: 12-16
TOPIC: A CONTINUOUS SACRIFICE OF PRAISE
Through Jesus, therefore, let us offer to God a sacrifice of praise, the fruit of our lips that openly profess his name”. Hebrews 13:15, NIV
An African adage says, “When a person appreciates the previous good deeds done to him, the individual will receive more”. As we enter into a new month we must continually praise God because it is His mercy sustaining us.
Today’s passage gave the picture of Jesus, our High Priest, who sacrificed His life for the remission of our sins. Our hearts of appreciation must be offered unto God through Christ who gave Himself for our redemption. The believer is also enjoined to be kind to others and to share the goodness of God by giving to others.
You are expected to praise God continually for the salvation of your soul if you have accepted Him as your Saviour and Lord. If you have not, today is another opportunity for you to be enlisted into the family of God. The saved are expected to be generous with the Gospel and sacrificially give quality praises to God. As people of God, we should know that being alive today is a privilege and not a right. So, praise God irrespective of your situations and circumstances.
Insight: “He who praises everybody, praises nobody.” –Samuel Johnson. So, praise God sacrificially.
Prayer: Oh Lord, you are my God, I will praise You continually.
RBT Passage: Malachi 1-4
