TOPIC: PRAISE IN THE HEAVENLY COMMUNITY
TEXT: REVELATION 4
“… day and night they never stop saying: Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.” Revelation 4:8b, NIV
MESSAGE
A community is a group of people who have common rights, privileges, or interests, and who live in the same place under the same laws and regulations as well as are related by culture or religious background. Usually, the head of the community appointed or elected would be responsible for ensuring the unity and preserving of the community’s heritage.
Like an earthly community, John saw a heavenly community with four living creatures and twenty-four elders continually engaged in praising God.
They never stop giving glory to God, declaring His holiness, greatness and eternal nature. The twenty-four elders demonstrated their praises to the One who sits on the throne by falling down and laying their crowns before Him.
The unending praises and glory ascribed to the One on the throne paints a picture of what the saved believers will be doing in heaven.
Believers from different tribes, languages, and nations of the world will join the heavenly community in triumphant jubilation and celebration of the Lord forever. Will you be among the heavenly host, honouring the King of glory? Make every effort to be part of this innumerable worship team.
Insight: Worship is not limited to songs of praise; it is living to honour God.
Prayer: Lord, make me one of the saints triumphant who will honour and praise You in heaven.
