TOPIC: PRAISE THE LORD, O MY SOUL
Bible Text: Psalm 146
“I will praise the LORD all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.” – Psalm 146:2
MESSAGE
In many Christian gatherings, the phrase, “Praise the Lord” is commonly used. Some use the phrase to call attention of the congregation while some others especially preachers use it as a mannerism during sermon delivery. It is equally a phrase that emanates from the mouth of believers when something good and desirable happens to them.
The psalmist in our passage declared that he will praise the Lord throughout his lifetime. This implies that God should be praised in all situations. We praise God because He is the Creator of all creatures; He is faithful; He provides; He defends the oppressed; He delivers; He restores sight to the blind; He loves the righteous; He cares for the needy; He frustrates the wicked and reigns forever. .
How often do you praise God? Are you going through any situation that queries why you should praise God? Beloved, whether you praise Him or not, it does not change who God is but it can change who you are. Therefore, it is wise to recount the faithfulness of God to you in the past and be encouraged to praise Him for your present situation so that your future will radiate the glory of His praise.
Insight: A praiseful heart draws one closer to God.
Prayer: Father of light, lead and keep my soul lifted to You in singing Your praise daily.
