OPEN HEAVEN TEENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR JUNE 22, 2022 (LENDING TO THE LORD)

TOPIC: LENDING TO THE LORD

Read: Luke 6:36-38

Memorise
“He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.” Proverbs 19:17

Giving is one of the activities that bring harvest. When you sow bountifully on fertile ground, your harvest would also be in abundance. Anyone who gives to God has sown seeds on fertile ground. The Bible enjoins us to
give not only to God but to people because giving will give us a bountiful harvest as stated in Luke 6:38

“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”

Our memory verse for today tells us to give to the poor and needy; by so doing, we lend to God. One thing that I’m confident of is that God never owes; if you lend to Him through giving, He considers it a debt that must be paid in manifold ways.

Therefore, if you are privileged and don’t give to the poor, you’re not doing well. Show mercy to the poor by giving food, clothes and material things to anyone in need. Also, you can speak with Foundations or Non-Governmental Organisations that can cater to the education or welfare of the poor in your environment.

Point: Set aside any good clothes or material things you have not used in the last six months and donate to your Church’s welfare department, for the needy.

Bible in One Year: Acts 5:17-42, Esther 4:1-17, Esther 5:1-14, Esther 6:1-14
