Bible Text: Luke 1:67-75
TOPIC: BLESSED BE GOD OUR SAVIOUR
“Praise be to the LORD, the God of Israel, because he has come to His people and redeemed them.” Luke 1:68, NIV
I remembered planting a seed of pear sometimes ago and watering it regularly to watch it grow. After about four weeks without any sign of budding, I gave up on the seed. I was about pulling it out after three months only to notice tiny shoots budding from the seed. I was filled with joy to see my labour yielding result even though it seemed late to me.
The case of Zechariah was similar. He must have lost hope completely of being a father since both of them; he and Elizabeth were old. But the coming of his son; John and promise of the redemption of Israel brought great joy to Zechariah who burst forth into praise for the God of Israel who remembered His people and raised a horn of salvation for them.
*God is still doing the unimaginable; a situation considered hopeless, God can restore.* Let your heart praise the LORD for His intervention in your situations. Don’t be ungrateful; always complaining about what you hoped for, rather, learn to appreciate the ones He has done in anticipation of more miracles. Think on those things God has done for you today and praise Him.
Insight: Count your many blessings and give praise to the LORD.
Prayer: LORD, I thank You for all Your wonderful kindness to me.
