TOPIC: JOY FULFILLED IN LOVE
Bible Text: John 15: 9-17
“If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love just as I have kept my father’s command and remain in his love, I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete” John 15:10-11, NIV.
MESSAGE
The children of the Alfreds’ were playing with their friends in the school and one of the friends lamented about the way his parents always quarrel. The young Alfred responded and said I am always happy to be at home with my parents, they are always friendly because they know God.
Jesus showed the kind of relationship between Him and His father which was orchestrated by His love for the father, by keeping His commandments and He expects His disciples as well to do the same. Obedience to God’s command to love as God loves makes God happy and helps believers to have complete joy and to be full of love.
Jesus Christ expects His disciples to love one another unconditionally. He demonstrated this by laying down His life for the entire human race. He chose and appointed us to bear fruit that will abide and also gave us another advantage of answered prayer if we ask the Father only in Jesus name.
As people of God, we must be ready to obey Christ’s command without any reservation. To have joy and be fulfilled, get to know God’s commands by searching the Scriptures and be ready to do them.
