SEEK DAILY (NBC) DAILY DEVOTIONAL OCTOBER 11, 2021 (DELIVERED FROM HUNGER AND THIRST)
TOPIC: DELIVERED FROM HUNGER AND THIRST
Bible Text: Psalm 107:1-9
SCRIPTURE: “They were hungry and thirsty, and … they cried out to the Lord in trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.” Psalm 107:5-6, NIV
MESSAGE
An orphan gained admission to a higher Institution of learning after waiting for seven years. He had little or no support for the first semester because no one was responsible for his education. During one Sunday service, an announcement was made in his favour. He was asked to see the president of the fellowship for a scholarship offer from a Christian philanthropist who financed his first degree.
The psalmist gave thanks to God for His goodness and His mercy, for it is only the redeemed that can offer acceptable thanks. God settled His people who were wandering in the wilderness when they cried to Him in their trouble and distress. When God brings about deliverance, the people are expected to give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love and His wonderful works to the children of men.
God is concerned, considerate and compassionate. His ears are attentive to those who diligently seek Him. His desire is to meet the needs of His children and fill them with good things. When you are overwhelmed, where do you turn to for help? God is more than able and sufficient to meet every need. Hold on to Him today, and you will be delivered!
Insight: “To hunger and thirst after righteousness is when nothing in the world can fascinate as being near God.” – Smith Wigglesworth.
Prayer: God, deliver me and all your children from bondage and fill our hearts with joy.
