SEEK DAILY (NBC) DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR NOVEMBER 19, 2021 (GOD JUDGES THE WICKED)
Bible Text: Revelation 19:17-21
TOPIC: GOD JUDGES THE WICKED
“But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed the miraculous signs on his behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped his image.
The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur.” Revelation 19:20, NIV
Have you ever felt like some people deserve instant death for the crimes they have committed? Have you ever wished that God will put some people’s judgment in your hands? Some people do terrible things that deserve terrible judgment, but sometimes it looks like the reverse is the case. A lot of times people want the wicked to get instant judgment, but sometimes the punishment seems delayed or even overlooked.
Our passage today describes the day God punished the wicked and destroyed the evil one. The beast and his false prophet who was deceiving people with fake miracles were both captured and thrown into the fiery lake. This should serve as an encouragement to believers. Our God is just therefore nothing evil will go unpunished. Injustice will not go on forever because someday God will deal with every injustice.
As Christians, we must continually pray for the grace to be just in all circumstances. Even when we are being persecuted, we must always remember that God will punish the wicked. Have you suffered an act of wickedness from someone before? Do not worry, God will fight on your behalf. Are you going through persecution because of your stand against wickedness and injustice? Hold on, help is on the way.
Insight: No sinner will go unpunished.
Prayer: Lord, please help me to always remember that Your anger burns over the wicked.
RBT Passage: Acts 18-19
