SEEK DAILY (NBC) DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR JANUARY 8, 2022 (CO-HEIRS WITH CHRIST)
TOPIC: CO-HEIRS WITH CHRIST
Bible Text: Romans 8:12-17
Memory Verse: “Now if we are children, then we are heirs — heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.” Romans 8:17, NIV
A popular Yoruba adage says: when you see a Prince anywhere, you must see the evidence of royalty on him. This is also applicable to a spiritual man. The lifestyle of a person is an evidence of who he is related to. A child of God
would show his relationship with God through his lifestyle.
A person that have received Christ and is born again will no longer live according to the dictates of the flesh. It is not possible for the Spirit of God to indwell in a person and he/she will still be a slave to sin. One’s conscience is a seat of clarification. If no one knows, the spirit in each one testifies of whom we actually belong (vs.16).
Are you a child of God in public but still live a sinful life in secret? You need to make a strong stand in the Lord without pretense and stop deceiving yourself. If you are truly a child of God, you are a co-heir with Christ. Do not entertain any fear or be ashamed of Christ. How you live your private life matters it must not contradict your public life. Make a decision today to live a life that please God.
Insight: People appreciate what your outward lifestyle depicts than who you profess to be.
Prayer: Help me O Lord never to misrepresent you wherever I find myself.
RBT Passage: Genesis 26-28
