SEEK DAILY (NBC) DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR JANUARY 10, 2022 (BE A WITNESS FOR CHRIST)
TOPIC: BE A WITNESS FOR CHRIST
Bible Text: Acts 10:39-43
Memory Verse: “He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one whom God appointed as judge of the living and the dead.” Acts 10:42, NIV
In the court’s witness box, an old man, who witness an armed robbery incident talked passionately with confidence about the incident that led to the death of a person, the deceased was killed by the armed robbers.
Jesus Christ commands His followers to be His witness (Acts 1:8).
A witness is somebody who gives evidence of an event after seeing, hearing or experiencing the situation. This is very important to Christian faith. To be a witness of Christ is to have had experience of Him. Elder John says, “that… which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched – this we proclaim concerning the Word of life” (1 John 1:1). John and his colleagues were ready to lay down their lives for what they believed and could not be stopped! They insisted, “as for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard” (Acts 4:20).
Do you bear witness of what you have heard, seen and encountered? Have you met with Christ or had an encounter with the gospel of Jesus Christ? Are you convinced of the message? Be a right witness for Christ and help teach others to be witnesses for Christ.
Insight: Let us show forth who we are as we live right as witnesses before people.
Prayer: Spirit of the living God, help me to be a true witness for Christ.
RBT Passage: Genesis 32-35
