SEEK DAILY (NBC) DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR February 24, 2022 (A TIME FOR EVERYTHING)
TOPIC: A TIME FOR EVERYTHING
Bible Text: Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
Memory Verse: “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” Ecclesiastes 3:1, NIV
A well-recognized botanist, Linnaeus, once devised a clock of flowers. Each of the blooms opened in turn at a set time of day. God has a similar order and beauty in the garden of life. Carefully, steadily, He unfolds the petals of time before us so that we may extract from them the nectar of His mercy and honey of His never failing blessings. This is the wisdom Solomon is passing across to us in today’s passage that God has allocated time for every single event on earth.
Everyone is born at a set time to fulfill a specific assignment on earth before the time of death sets in. If we fail to understand this divine order, we will not be a good manager of time. Are you a time waster or time investor? One of the ways to be a good manager of time is to set worthwhile goals and pursue our priorities.
In two minutes, write down an all-inclusive list of your lifetime goals – personal, family, career, financial and spiritual. Then answer the question: “How would I like to spend the next four years of my life?” There are two inescapable appointments for everyone – the hour of birth and that of death. How prepared are you?
Insight: Time is the currency of life.
Prayer: Lord, help me not be a time waster!
