SEEK DAILY (NBC) DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR FEBRUARY 20, 2022 (THE COURAGE TO LEAD)
TOPIC: THE COURAGE TO LEAD
Date: Sunday, February 20, 2022
Bible Text: Joshua 1:1-7
Memory Verse: “Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their forefathers to give them. Be strong and very courageous” Joshua 1:6-7, NIV
It is often said that when fear knocks your door, let courage open it, and fear will disappear. Though courage is not the absence of fear; it is the awareness that there is something worth taking risks for; courage is the only antidote for fear. As you move forward on your journey to start a new project, take on a new venture, put yourself out there to lead, be courageous in the Lord and conquer all your fears. Unfortunately, most people let fear stop them from taking the necessary steps in making decision to achieve their dreams. God knew Joshua would be stepping into the leadership shoe of Moses and that he would need to be encouraged, hence; the repeated emphasis on the need to be courageous. Don’t let fear impede you from getting to your goal or accomplishing your leadership responsibility.
Human strength and strategies will not be sufficient to accomplish divine assignment. Your destiny is totally supernatural and it requires supernatural ability. “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31). “Waiting upon God entails cultivating the habit of finding time to be alone with God. This must be pursued deliberately with all passion. There is no guarantee for living a life of unending fruitfulness without maintaining the habit of perpetual prayer life.
Insight: FEAR is false experiences appearing real!
Prayer: Lord, by your Spirit, I cast out all forms of fear in my heart.
