SEEK DAILY (NBC) DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR FEBRUARY 14, 2022 (INTEGRITY, A VIRTUE)
TOPIC: INTEGRITY, A VIRTUE
Memory Verse: “My lips will not say anything wicked, and my tongue will not utter lies” Job 27:4, NIV
The word integrity is derived from the word integer. It is not a fraction but a whole number. So a man of integrity is a person that is complete in himself and not a fractionised personality. He is a man of wholesome character who shifts grounds like reeds at the slightest pressure. A man of integrity matches his words with his heart.
Job was a man of integrity. When he was under pressure to curse God or utter unwholesome words even in his ordeal, he stood by his cherished moral virtue. No wonder God described him as blameless and upright; a man who feared God and shunned evil (Job 1:1). He made up his mind that his lips will not say anything wicked, and his tongue will not utter lies (Job 27:4). He believed in God with all his heart and serve Him till his last breath.
Do people know you as a man of truth? Do you strive to make your “Yes” Yes, and your “No”, No? Are you a man of your words? As new born believers in Christ, we must heed the warning in Colossians 3:9: “Do not lie to each other.” Make up your mind today that your life will be a true reflection of the virtue of integrity.
Insight: Integrity is the matching of your word with your action.
Prayer: Lord, I receive grace to be a man of integrity like Job.
