SEEK DAILY (NBC) DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR FEBRARY 15, 2022 (LEARN FROM CHRIST)
TOPIC: LEARN FROM CHRIST
Bible Text: Matthew 11:27-30
Memory Verse: “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me…” Matthew 11:29, NIV
Isaac Newton said, “If I have seen farther than others, it is because I have stood on the shoulders of giants.” This underscores the priority of continuous learning because the moment we stop learning, we start dying, whether at 20 or 80. It also points to the need to learn to walk with others if we desire to go far in life.
Jesus’ teachings were drawn from eternal source and it addresses every human areas of need. All we need do is to connect to this right source to enjoy the good things that are eternal. We have a lot to learn from Him. One of the things we can learn from Jesus is humility which is a sure path to rest, because God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble ( 1 Peter 5:5,6).
In Jesus alone rest the secret to freedom and peace of mind. The Word of God contains all the benefits we can enjoy by associating and aligning our lives with Christ Jesus. You can simply exchange your burden for Jesus’ yoke which is easy and light. You don’t need to suffocate yourself with a load of care; the burden bearer is near. Seek for the knowledge of His will in the Word and allow His light to lighten up your darkness.
Insight: There is rest in associating your life with Christ.
Prayer: Lord, I tap in the rest and peace that is available with you.
