MESSAGE
George Washington said, “Ninety-nine percent of all failures comes from people who have a habit of making excuses.” Diligence is the trademark of successful people. A diligent man is the one who has taken the time to sharpen his skill in the area of his calling so he can maintain a cutting edge in his career. Another word for diligence is commitment to one’s duty until it produces optimally to the envy of others.
It also requires continuous learning, re-learning and training for one to maintain competence through which promotion and recognition are inevitable. A good example is Daniel and his friends who were found ten times better than their colleagues after their training in Babylon (Daniel 1:20). Solomon too was a diligent man because the queen of Sheba testified to this when she visited his palace. Diligence is a man’s precious possession, (Proverbs 12:27)
Do you wonder why you have not been recognized or promoted in your place of work? Probably you need to sharpen your skill and increase your level of diligence to enhance productivity. Above all, you need the grace of God for it is He that gives power to those who lacks strength. Be diligent in all you do!
Insight: A skillful and diligent man will always take the lead in any adventure.
Prayer: Lord, I receive your grace to overcome every form of laziness.
