Bible Text: Isaiah 35:1-6
TOPIC: BLIND EYES SHALL BE OPENED
“Say to those with fearful hearts, be strong, do not fear; your God will come… then will the eyes of the blind be opened …” Isaiah 35:4-5, NIV
Blindness can be physical or spiritual. Physical blindness comes with a lot of challenges and uncertainties. But the advancement in technology has helped to lessen the burden of the blind. Those who are blind spiritually lack divine vision and direction for their lives. They are living in spiritual darkness of sin and until their eyes become opened, they will continue to stumble and fumble. The good news is that there is hope for the blind.
Through prophet Isaiah, God promised to restore the joy of His people. The desert and wilderness used in the passage symbolize pain, hardness, dryness and harshness experienced by God’s people. But the situation will not be long as God is determined to bring a turn around with gladness, glamour and goodness. The saving grace of God will be revealed and those who come to Him will be rescued.
No matter what believers go through, God is always willing to pull them out and give them victory. Christ won the victory when He died on the cross, so we are meant to walk in that victory. Is your life full of darkness and confusion? Then, you need the light of God to shine on you. Trust Him by turning to Him in prayer. He will answer and show you the way to life and light.
Insight: When light comes, darkness will vanish.
Prayer: I pray that my life will exude the life and light of Christ.
