Question(s) for Reflection
• Is there any example for me to follow or not to follow?
David here encourages us all to extol or praise the name of the Lord because of His unsearchable greatness (v.4). God’s work needs to be lauded and transmitted from generation to generation. This means that each generation has a responsibility to extol God’s greatness to the next generation, Deuteronomy 6:4-9; 20-25.
How do you fulfill this expectation in your situation? If God would deal with us according to our failures daily, we would not last. But He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in love (v.8). His compassion is on all He has made, including you and me (v.9). All His works speak of His great deeds to all generations. Being thankful to God includes giving testimonies of His dealings and how He has daily walked with us (vs.11).
Write down ways you could also transmit the love, word and great works of God to your family and those you interact with? God deserves our sincere and regular worship as an expression of our gratitude to Him.
