TOPIC: THE ROBE OF THE EPHOD
Opening Prayer: Dear Lord, expose me to your truth as I read your word in Jesus name.
Scripture: Exodus 28:31-43

MESSAGE
Read vs.31-35 again and observe the special features of the high priest’s robe of the ephod.
The pomegranates made of yarn with assorted colours added to the beauty of the robe. The golden bells on the hem of the robe were a sign of God’s acceptance of the priestly sacrifice: when the priest was in the Holy of Holies, people were to listen to the tinkling of the bells to be sure that the priest was still alive, and that God was satisfied with the sacrifice. In the Old Testament this was the way of atoning for sin, but in the New Testament period, Christ the better High Priest, always lives to intercede for His people (see Hebrew 7:25-28) and His sacrifice has been fully accepted by the Father.
The engraved golden inscription in vs.36 and 37 served as a reminder that God is holy, and the sacrifice being offered was to the Almighty and holy God. Both the sacrifice, the priest and the people must also be holy to the Lord. The priest’s gown is an indication that the high priest has been accepted as the representative of God’s people to bear their sins (v.38).

PRAY AGAINST:► Praying in error or in false hood.► Distraction from praying due to other pressures that need their attention.
