SCRIPTURE: Luke 22:1‐13
Question(s) for Reflection
• Is there any warning for me to heed?
OUTLINE
Judas was one of the twelve who had been with Jesus for three years and had heard all His teachings and seen all His miracles. It is certain he was not an immature disciple but equivalent of a senior Christian leader. Yet, note what happened to him (v.3) and how he behaved? What warnings and lessons can we learn from him? Satan does not just force himself on anyone.
We must have prepared the ground through that which we desire or love to do (James 1:13‐15). Notice the entry point for Satan (v.5, compare John 12:6). We must particularly beware of this danger (1 Timothy 6:6‐10). How has Easter become a money‐making period of the year for the Church today? How much of the purpose of Easter do we keep in focus these days? We begin the final session of the Lord’s time on earth.
This calls for serious time of reflection as we follow the Lord through His passion. From vs.7‐13 what should be our proper attitude/preparations for/during Easter? Notice in v.13 that the disciples simply obeyed Jesus, and then found everything just as he had told them. We will do well to always trust Him and obey His instructions without questioning.
Practice/Word Application
