When David ruled as King, God promised him that he would always have a descendant as king and that his throne would be established forever. Looking at the genealogy of Jesus in Matthew 1:1-25, you can tell that He is in the lineage of David. The book of Matthew records that various people, on different occasions, acknowledged Jesus as the Son of David. For example, blind Bartimaeus laid emphasis on it in Mark 10:46-47

“And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me.”

If Jesus was proud to be associated with David, then there must be something about David. God called him a man after His heart because David dedicated his whole life to praising the Lord wholeheartedly. Are people proud to be associated with you? Will your family be proud to be associated with you? If you’re not sure, then its high time you made your way right with God.

Point: Whose offspring are you, God’s or the devil’s?
