OPEN HEAVEN TEENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR JULY 6, 2022 (LESSONS FROM THE EAGLE)

TOPIC: LESSONS FROM THE EAGLE

Read: Jeremiah 48:40

Memorise
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31

An eagle is an uncommon bird that the Bible associates with victorious Christian living. It has some traits that should encourage you to soar higher in your journey with God. First, an eagle flies at a high altitude, not with low-flying birds like sparrows and pidgeons. In as much as you want to show love to everyone as Christ commands, you should not be rolling with unbelievers but fellow eagles in the faith.

You need to constantly aim to soar high spiritually and in other areas of your life. Another trait of an eagle is that it gets excited when the cloud looks stormy. It uses the strong wind to lift itself above the clouds. Thus, as a child of God – as an eagle, you are not meant to chicken out in the face of a challenge; rather, you should use it to rise to greater heights.

High achievers thrive on challenges and use them profitably. Eagles don’t always have a soft and easy life; the same applies to us but the good news is that we have a God who promised never to leave nor forsake us. Wait on Him and learn to soar high above the cares and trials of life.

Point
Father, please help me to mount up with wings like an eagle, in Jesus’ name.
