TODAY’S TOPIC: JESUS, THE SLAIN LAMB
Read: Philippians 3:20-21
20. For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
21. Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. – John 1:29
One remarkable thing about my Lord Jesus was that He had to die for sins He never committed. He bore the sins of the whole world and offered Himself as a sacrificial lamb. Why? Hebrews 9:22 explains that except blood (which is life) is shed, no sin will be forgiven. In other words, except something dies to replace the sinner, he/she will die for his/her own sins. Jesus died to shed His blood for your sins. He suffered shame, mockery, pain and ultimate death for our sake.
Another reason for Jesus’ death is the law of harvest. God understands that the quality of your harvest is determined by the quality of your seed, so because He wanted more children, He gave up His only begotten Son (John 3:16 ). Had He sent angels, He would not have felt the pain of losing His Son, but He gave His special gift that would connect His heart to the harvest – His adopted children.
Jesus volunteered to die in your place to show the devil how special you are to God. If you are yet to be born again, it means you don’t appreciate that sacrifice of His. Appreciate His love by surrendering your life to Him today.
Point: Lord Jesus, thank You for dying for me and taking away my sins. Thank You for the hope of eternal life.
