GOODNEWS DAILY DEVOTIONAL FEBRUARY 15, 2022 (DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME)
Today’s Scripture: John 9:4
I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
Insects have taught us a lesson in valuing time. In 1895, an insect specialist named George Hudson came up with the concept of daylight-savings time. He proposed a two-hours time shift so he could have more daylight hours to hunt bugs. During World War I, the concept was modified slightly to shift time by an hour to use less power for lighting and save fuel for the war. The concept is still in use in modern times, allowing us more time to get necessary things done.
There is power in working while it is day.
And there is wisdom in recognizing that time is valuable, and time is short. We understand that it is in our best interest to maximize the use of natural daylight to get as much done as possible. We must also maximize spiritual daylight, the time for us to be busy with the work of the Kingdom. That time is now. Wonders without number can only manifest in your life when you have that urgency in your spirit.
The Bible says we should redeem the time, understanding what the will of the Lord is.
That means make wise and full use of every opportunity for doing good. If you have been thinking about starting a business, do it now. If you have been pondering whether or not to move forward with that marriage, understand that time is short. If you are under somebody’s ministry, work as if it is your own understanding that God is the ultimate owner. And if you are called by God to start a ministry, go and start it now! If you are called by God, it will not fail.
I decree and declare that my time is now! I am marked for success. I am prohibited to fail, in Jesus’ mighty Name!
