Topic: SYMPTOMS AND TREATMENT OF LEPROSY
Bible Text: Leviticus 13:1-8
“The priest is to examine that person, and if the rash has spread in the skin, he shall pronounce them unclean; it is a defiling skin disease.” Leviticus 13:8, NIV
Leprosy is an infectious disease that causes severe, disfiguring skin sores and nerve damage in the arms, legs, and skin areas around the body. It is contagious to the extent that anyone who comes into close, repeated contact with nose and mouth droplets from someone with untreated leprosy can contract the disease.
In many respects, sin is like leprosy, and our High Priest, Jesus Christ, knows our bad situation and cleanses everyone who comes to Him with His blood.
Christians must not take anything that looks like sin for granted, but should inspect and reexamine themselves in the light of God’s Word. As a child of God, you must watch, so that you don’t get carried away in any environment where sinful lifestyle is prevalent.
As you go out today, watch your association with those who live a sinful life. Watch also to be sure you have not picked the “bacteria” of sin. If you have, let treatment begin immediately by asking for forgiveness and mending your ways.
Insight:
The “bacteria” of sin does not produce symptoms the same day it is picked, but eventually it can kill.
Prayer:
LORD, empower me with wisdom so that I will not be overtaken by sin.
