TOPIC: IN HOPE OUR SALVATION IS SECURE
Bible Text: Romans 8:18-25
“For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has?” Romans 8:24, NIV
MESSAGE
Someone once said “When a diamond is found, it is rough and dark like a common pebble. It takes a long time to polish it, and it is very strenuous work.
It is held by means of a piece of metal, close to the surface of a large wheel, nothing else being hard enough to polish the diamond. It could take months or years to be finished and if it is meant for the king; then greater time and trouble is required.”
Our salvation is secure in the King of kings who will display us as a polished jewel.
In today’s passage, Apostle Paul talks about the future glory that shall be revealed in the saints (vs.18). However, that glory cannot come without suffering. Apostle Paul compared the groans of our suffering to the cries of a woman in the pains of labour (vs.22). Her sorrow soon turns to joy because she has brought a new baby into the world.
It is in the hope that our suffering for Christ will soon turn to glory that our salvation is secure and preserved. God that saved us through His only Son is able to preserve us so we do not faint. Therefore, do not be discouraged. Rest assured, as you walk with God and work for God, your salvation is secured.
Insight
To be fit for Jesus’ crown, we must be polished through trials.
Prayer
