Bible Text: Philippians 4: 4-9
TOPIC: REJOICE IN THE LORD ALWAYS
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: rejoice!” Philippians 4:4, NIV
A Christian lady shared how she had been depressed every day of her life. She had several appointments with psychologists for years, yet her experience was the same. When asked, “Do you relate your concerns to God in prayer?” She was baffled. She said, “I’ve never thought about that.”
The Christian faith does not deny the reality of challenges, struggles, and pain, yet we do not grieve like the people who have no hope (1 Thessalonians 4:13).
Today’s passage is an admonition for believers to rejoice in the Lord always despite our challenges. Instead of worrying, pray and let God know your concerns, and He will replace your worries with His peace. To rejoice is to place our focus on God. We can secure our joy and peace by occupying our hearts with good and positive things God commands us to think on (vs. 😎.
Friend, in spite of challenges, you must learn to pray to God, presenting before Him the concerns of your heart and His comforting peace shall be your experience. Enjoy God’s joy and peace by evacuating worry from your heart. His peace is the cure to tension, depression, and discouragement.
Insight: Peace comes from our total submission to God’s will.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, displace every worry in my heart with Your joy and peace.
