TOPIC: SANCTIFIED BY CHRIST’S SACRIFICES
Bible Text: Hebrews 10:1-10
“And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all” Hebrews 10:10, NIV
MESSAGE
Sacrifices in traditional African societies include the killing of animals and even humans as offering to a divine being. They are offered to restore a right relationship to a sacred order. It is a fundamental act of worship present in all religions. In most religions, it is repeated when an individual or a group of people commit sin and they want to appease the god(s).

In Hebrews, the author made it clear that the sacrifice of Christ on the cross was “…once for all”. It makes all who will accept Him as Lord and personal Saviour holy before God. The sacrifices offered by the Priests before the arrival of Christ were a constant reminder of sin. They did not take the guilt of people away. The sins of the people could not, and cannot be taken away by the killings of animals.
Christians should understand that Christ set aside the first sacrifices of animals and humans and set up a second one through which we have been made holy and sanctified by the will of God. We should never live in a way that will make the sanctification work of God meaningless. Remember that Jesus paid the price for our sanctification.
