Bible Text: Galatians 3:6-14
TOPIC: GENTILES BELIEVE BY FAITH
“The scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: ‘All nations will be blessed through you.’” Galatians 3:8, NIV
A skeptical doctor asked his Christian patient why he was not saved despite the fact he believed in God, believed in Christ as the Son of God and believed in the Bible. The patient replied, “A week ago, I believed in you as a very skillful physician. For a week now, I have been taking some mysterious stuff out of a bottle. I don’t know what it is… but I am trusting you.”
Whenever a person turns to Jesus Christ, he may not fully understand the mystery of justification, but he becomes saved as soon as he believes in his heart by faith that Jesus is trustworthy.
Paul wrote to the Galatians to counteract the teaching of false teachers that Gentiles must be circumcised and become like Jews in order to be saved. Paul insisted that Gentiles, do not need to be circumcised. Everyone becomes saved by faith alone. He argued that Abraham, the father of the Jews never obtain justification by circumcision, law or works, but by faith. Therefore, all believers are spiritual children of Abraham only by faith in Jesus Christ.
*You do not need to do anything to qualify for salvation, only believe. Believe in the LORD Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved.*
Insight: The righteous will live by faith.
Prayer: LORD, I may not understand all the mysteries of Christianity but I trust in You absolutely.
