TOPIC: FAITH THAT LOVES OVERCOMES OBSTACLES
Bible Text: I John 4:2-3, 13-17; 5:4-5
Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God” 1 John 5:5, NIV
Have you invested love and concern in a person who was practically unlovable and you witnessed a transformation in the person’s behaviour? Only then can you relate with today’s topic.
Paul says that, love “keeps no record of wrong” (1 Corinthians 13:5). There are many reasons to keep others at arm’s length but love bridges the gap. We were once alienated from God; sin made us strangers, but, His love removed the obstacles and makes us His children (John 1:12). Through His love, we overcome the barriers that separate us from Him and we have full access to His throne. If God loves us so much as to remove the obstacles of sin, do not create obstacles for others because they cannot meet your terms.
We need to reciprocate the love of Christ by breaking every barrier through love. Your faith is not complete when it is not expressed in love. Believers must exemplify what love means through actions of love and break every barrier that separates others from us. When our faith is backed by acts of love, every barrier in our relationship with others is broken.
In what ways have you made barriers for people that need your help? Break it down today through your
faith that loves genuinely.
Insight: Show your faith in God through acts of love expressed to others.
Prayer: LORD, help me to love even the unlovable.
