Bible Text: Isaiah 38:16-26
TOPIC: LET’S SING OF THE LORD’S FAITHFULNESS
“The LORD will save me, and we will sing with stringed instruments all the days of our lives in the temple of the LORD.” Isaiah 38:20, NIV
One of the precious gifts which God has given to us is our lives; though it is undervalued in the face of life challenges.
King Hezekiah realized how important his life was compared to other possessions after he was instructed to put his house in order because his time was up. He prayed to God and wept for God’s mercy. God sent Prophet Isaiah to him that his tears had been seen and his prayers answered. Fifteen more years were added to his life.
He appreciated God for his health and his life vs. 16. He also thanked God for the lessons he learnt through suffering, and praised God for forgiveness and preservation from destruction vs. 17.
Which of these blessings have you not enjoyed from God? How often do you praise Him? Sing of God’s faithfulness for life, for your health, for family, and for the many other blessings that may come to your mind.
In the grave you can’t do that anymore. Look back and share those memories of what the LORD has done for you with your family members, friends, church members, neighbours and others who need encouragement. Let them hear about how God has been faithful to you and your family.
You never know who that will strengthen and help. God can use your testimony to bring others to the knowledge of His saving power.
Insight: The opportunity to sing of God’s faithfulness is available only when you are alive; therefore, begin now.
Prayer: LORD Jesus, may the song of Your faithfulness never cease in my mouth.
