Bible Text: John 4:39-42
TOPIC: MANY SAMARITANS BELIEVE IN THE SAVIOUR
“Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.” John 4:39, NIV
There was once a merchant who was an unbeliever. He then got converted and became a follower of Christ. When asked what was instrumental to his conversion, he replied, “The example of one of my clerks.”
Two very critical requirements for the transformation of the world are believers’ testimonies (in word and deed) and the Word of God. Wherever they are scarce, deliverance and salvation of sinners will be rare and evil will be prevalent. The woman in today’s passage had lived a very reckless life in the past, as a result of which she became an outcast.
Through an encounter with Christ, she realized that Jesus was the Messiah and decided not to keep it to herself. She went into the city to broadcast her personal experience with Jesus to everyone in Samaria. As a result of her testimony, many believed in the LORD Jesus Christ and some had audience with Him.
There are many who need someone to share the Gospel of Christ with them. The testimony of what Christ has done in your life might be what someone needs to hear, to turn away from evil to God. Make it a habit to share your testimony with others.
Insight: Testimony is a powerful tool for winning souls to Christ.
Prayer: LORD, give power to my testimony as I share it with someone today.
