TOPIC: ENTER GOD’S COURTS WITH PRAISE
TEXT: PSALM 100: “Shout for joy to the Lord all the earth, worship the Lord with gladness…” – Psalm 100:1- 2.
MESSAGE
In 2015, a woman discarded her late husband’s computer at a recycling centre – a computer that was made in 1976. It is interesting to know that it was one of the 200 computers hand-built by Apple founder, Steve Jobs, and worth about a quarter of a million dollars! Sometimes, knowing the true worth of something means knowing who made it. Knowing that it is God who made us in His image, shows how valuable we are to Him.
The psalmist encourages all and sundry, to praise the Lord with gladness, and joyful songs despite their situations and circumstances because He is our Maker, and we are expected to be His children.
A responsible child is expected to reference, appreciate and serve his father responsibly. Considering His mercy, faithfulness and goodness through creation which we are enjoying, there is no excuse for not praising and thanking God with our lives and everything in us. It is praise that takes us to God’s presence and grants us audience with Him to even present our petition. Therefore, learn to praise Him even when the situation is not favorable.
When last did you praise God wholeheartedly, for the creation and creatures, and what He is yet to do? Let praises and thanksgiving flow from you to God ceaselessly.
Insight:
Joy is the simplest form of gratitude”- Karl Barth.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, help me to praise You continually for who You are.
