Topic: THE INNER LIFE OF BELIEVERS
Text: Hebrews 10:11-18
“For by one sacrifice he has made perfect for ever those who are being made holy” Hebrews 10:14, NIV
Every new bottle of wine contains pure, sweet and uncontaminated wine, and so also are new bottles of water and other drinks. The major difference between old and new bottles is the nature and taste of the content.
In today’s passage, Christ performed a one-time cleansing of all our sins through His death on the Cross of Calvary. The repetitive sacrifices offered by the Priests could not take away the sins of the people. The sacrifice of Christ brings to life the fulfillment of the promise of God made in Jeremiah 31:33-34. God promised that He will put His laws in the hearts of all people and will remember their sins no more. They will then become new.
We have been made new as we accept Christ as our Lord and personal saviour. Our new lives brought about a new inner life that cannot be compared at any length with our old lives. If you are yet to experience this new inner life brought about by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, please ask for it now. If you already have it, share it with others.
Insight: Through the once-for-all sacrifice of Jesus Christ, God made us new.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, from inside out, make my life new and clean.
