TOPIC: PRAISE THE NAME OF THE LORD
Bible Text: Psalm 148
“Let them praise the name of the LORD for his name alone is exalted; his splendor is above the earth and the heavens.” Psalm 148:13, NIV
MESSAGE
Peter was a young boy loved by all. A certain day, his dad gave him two fresh apples. As he appreciated his dad, his mom came over and requested him to give her one of his apples. Peter smiled; took a bite on both apples and handed over the one on his right hand and said, “Mom, have this one. It is sweeter.”
Like Peter’s mom, the Lord deserves the sweetest part of our lives. Worship is the primary duty of creation. Our normal response to what God has revealed about Himself is praise (vv. 5, 13).
His decree established our creation and continuance. Jesus reconciled us to the Father by His blood (Ephesians 2:13). Jesus is the horn and King through which the Church is dignified, empowered and glorified. Thus, the Church is to render unceasing praise to Him (vs. 14; Psalm 132:17).
Beloved, learn to acknowledge and celebrate the character of God and His deeds. Your age, whether young or old does not exempt you from praising God (vs. 12). Do not limit your praise to church services alone, praise the Lord everywhere you go.
Insight: To render acceptable praise to God, you must have a personal relationship with Him.
Prayer: Lord, Your splendour is above the heavens and the earth. Receive my praise.
